Job Description
This position is responsible for providing insights, data analysis, and both routine and ad hoc reporting to Museum stakeholders, and to support membership and fundraising efforts. This position also supports Development, Membership, and Insights staff in effectively using and leveraging our CRM platform. The Business Analyst routinely collaborates with Technology and Finance departments, as well as other stakeholders, to advance the Museum’s strategic priorities and operations.

Hiring Range: $65,000 – $73,000
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; Remote up to 2 days a week
Direct Reports: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties
- Provides information to support business operations and supports data-based decision making.
- Fulfills tasks for internal stakeholders such as complex queries, exports, imports, reports, and list generation for mailings and other donor/member communications.
- Trains employees in the DMI division on the Museum’s CRM platform and Analytics tools.
- Suggests novel solutions to new and existing problems, captures and assesses user feature requests, maintains inventory of requests and communicates effectively with technology team to implement.
- Collaborates with other Museum departments to establish procedures and documentation to ensure the integrity of the database and streamlines processes for efficient and accurate data entry and acknowledgement.
- Creates and maintains data models, reports, metrics, and dashboards for DMI division stakeholders that support routine and recurring reporting requests.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or other related field with strong quantitative or analytical background.
- 2 years’ experience with Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Visualization tools, or equivalent training/education required. PowerBI, Qlik, or other similar tools.
- 2 years’ experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Intermediate proficiency in related Microsoft Suite.
- Basic proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).

- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively support a variety of end users and stakeholders.
- Experience working with a CRM platform to support Fundraising and/or Membership teams.
- Strong written communication and visualization skills to creatively deliver insights.
- Curious self-starter with the initiative to deep-dive.
