Description

The Accounting Shared Services Supervisor oversees the general accounting functions related to Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Cash/Treasury activities. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in transactional accounting while leading a team responsible for financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise AR, AP, and Cash/Treasury operations in compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support external audits by preparing financial statements and required documentation.
  • Review budget reports and assist departments with annual budget preparation.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of the corporate tax return.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Generate and analyze financial reports to provide key insights to leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises 3-5 team members within the accounting shared services function.
  • Provides mentorship, training, and performance feedback to the team.
  • Establishes best practices for process efficiency and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in AR/AP, cash reconciliations, and financial reporting, with prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial controls.
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Customer service mindset with the ability to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools, with experience tracking KPIs.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • General office environment with periodic exposure to manufacturing/production areas.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, using a computer, and handling financial data.

  • Moderate noise levels, with occasional exposure to louder production areas.
