Resource Planning and Purchasing Manager

Position Overview

This role is responsible for the development and implementation of the resource planning activities of the division to optimize stick/brick cost while balancing cycle time, crew optimization and geographic work distribution. This includes a “centralized scheduling” component that is generated through subcontractor procurement, cost negotiations, trade relations and field operations support.

Primary Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Subcontractor “available pool” development.
  • Cost negotiations, production capabilities evaluation, and deployment of cadence and crew optimization of above.
  • Manage operation schedules and coordinate construction activities in a manner to hold both our internal field supervisors and the subcontractor accountable. (avoid dry runs or no shows).
  • Coordinate with field supervisors and subcontractors to resolve problems affecting capacity and schedule adherence.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Coordinator to reduce division stick/brick labor costs.
  • Develop procurement strategy and plans to meet changing economic and competitive conditions to allow the division to quickly adapt the subcontractor pool.

  • Physical requirements: Limited to normal office and field visitation on a regular basis.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years construction field supervisory experience.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Negotiation experience a plus.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Understanding of trade and internal cost drivers.
  • Must have the ability to procure a FL General Contractors License within 1 year of being in role.
