Remote Special Education Teacher for K-8 Schools

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to become an integral part of our team, delivering remote educational support to students in grades K-8. This position is designed for independent contractors, with flexibility in the start date, aiming for immediate engagement and extending through the end of the academic year, potentially lasting until early June due to school closures.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, high-quality special education services tailored to students in grades K-8, following their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
• Collaborate with onsite educators in both middle and elementary school environments to foster student learning and development.
• Adapt lesson plans and educational materials to cater to the diverse needs of students with various disabilities and learning challenges.
• Monitor and document student progress in relation to IEP goals, providing regular updates as necessary.
• Work closely with school faculty, including general education teachers, to promote the inclusion of students with special needs within the general classroom setting.
• Assist in the development and adjustment of accommodations and modifications as stipulated in students’ IEPs.
• Provide both individual and group instruction utilizing a variety of engaging and effective teaching methodologies.
• Participate in virtual meetings, professional development sessions, and IEP meetings as required.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.

Required Skills

• Valid Kentucky Special Education certification.
