Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Literacy Instructor, your pivotal role will involve steering students through the intricacies of literacy development. Utilizing established methodologies, you will assist students in cultivating vital reading, writing, and comprehension skills, all while promoting independence and critical thinking.

• Deliver individualized literacy instruction tailored to students across diverse age ranges.
• Implement evidence-based literacy intervention techniques, specifically EBLI (Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction).
• Aid students in developing executive functioning capabilities, including time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Inspire a passion for reading and learning by crafting engaging, student-focused lesson plans.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to achieve learning objectives.
• Maintain effective communication with students and, where appropriate, their parents or guardians to ensure ongoing success.

Required Skills

• Experience in tutoring or teaching literacy skills.
• Proficiency in evidence-based reading instruction, preferably EBLI-trained.
• (Preferred but not obligatory) Montessori certification.
• A strong commitment to fostering student success and personal growth.

• Excellent communication skills and the capability to engage students within a virtual learning environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in tutoring or teaching literacy skills is essential.
• EBLI training and proficiency in evidence-based reading instruction are required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Literacy, or a related field is preferred.
