Position Summary

The Anesthesia Coordinator (AC) is an integral role within Strategic Health Partners (SHP). The AC is directly responsible for the overall day-to-day operations, including directing the daily business functions of the Anesthesia Department. The AC is also responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies associated with the health system. Additionally, the AC will be responsible for Anesthesia practice specific regulations as it applies to their specialty.

The position will maintain clinical quality, financial viability, patient experience, staff, and provider engagement. In collaboration with associated departments, the AC Maintains proficiency in business operations and resolves operational issues and problems.

The AC will support Anesthesia providers (physicians and advanced practice professionals).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Practice Operations/ Financial Resource Management

  • Assures resource management to achieve practice business goals.
  • Manages practice operations to assure financial viability through service quality and clinical excellence.
  • Assures appropriate IS and communication systems are available to meet practice needs.
  • Utilizes financial and operational principles in daily and long-term practice operations
  • Attend meetings and functions as required.
  • Abide with HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.

Leadership and Professional Responsibility

  • Cultivates a relationship of mutual respect and trust with providers and staff.
  • Works in conjunction with Director of Operations to facilitate provider understanding and acceptance of good business management.
  • Seeks out opportunities to network and enhance practice management knowledge base.
  • Actively participates in organizational activities and continuing education.
  • Exhibits professionalism in dress, style, and manner.

Human Resource Management

  • Adheres to Strategic Health Partners policy and procedure regarding overall human resource management and applies such policies and procedures consistently.
  • Employee engagement/ performance management, training, and evaluation
  • Compliant with State and Federal laws

Required Education And Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of study from an accredited university Required or associate’s degree Required, and five (5) years of management experience Required or 7 years of healthcare administration experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree Required.

Other Requirements

  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Experience working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • General computer knowledge required. Knowledge of office functions and processes.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues easily and effectively at all levels of organization.
