Job Description
The Category Manager plays integral role in leading development of insights, identifying opportunities, and communicating recommendations to lead future industry growth for our retail customers. This role will focus on leveraging data and insights to shape category strategies and enhance shopper engagement across our portfolios of beer and beyond beer . This role will have a solid understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationship with regional retailers as a trusted Category advisor across all areas of the Beer & Beyond Beer business.
- Develop impactful category analyses and consumer insights using a range of syndicated and non-syndicated data sources
- Synthesize learnings from various sources (shopper data, scan data, custom research) to create clear and impactful selling stories in a visually appealing manner using PowerPoint
- Effectively educate internal teammates and external customers on growth opportunities through clear and impactful communications
- Partner with Sales team to engage external retailer buying team with goal of identifying opportunities to grow the Beer and Beyond Beer categories
- Lead the assortment recommendations and create planograms based on category analysis and on objectives of profitability, quantities and aesthetic
- Monitor and report on category performance, providing regular updates and recommendations to senior management.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education
- Proficiency utilizing Excel and PowerPoint to manipulate and organize data
- Familiarity using space planning software (JDA, etc.)
- Strong familiarity with syndicated data, software, and measures (IRI, Nielsen, etc.) with ability to understand information, develop insights and identify opportunities when analyzing large data sets
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to confidently present insights, opportunities and recommendations to internal or external stakeholders in a persuasive manner
