Job Description
Job Purpose
To drive the development and implementation of corporate communications (internal and external) for UEM Lestra spanning strategy and tactical which includes public relations, editorial, media management, stakeholders’ management, events management, branding and sustainability agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- To formulate strategy and tactical plan for internal communication – execute and manage internal communication including internal events, editorial materials for internal stakeholders shared via various platforms i.e. email, Intranet and social media, newsletters and other materials to foster a cohesive company culture and for UEM Lestra employees be informed of developments of the Company in a timely manner. The role also requires one to facilitate employee engagement surveys and initiatives, and report on findings and action plans.
- To formulate external communication, media management strategy and tactical plan – execute and manage external communication including public relations requirements on behalf of UEM Lestra which includes drafting and issuance of press releases, articles and advertorials, speeches and information kit as well as updating corporate website (including copywriting and translations) thus ensuring external parties are aware of latest developments / information at UEM Lestra and that an accurate information are being shared.
- To plan and execute branding related initiatives and collaterals to maintain and/ or increase positive branding and brand presence for UEM Lestra amongst targeted internal and external stakeholders. This includes overseeing advertising, events and activities, buntings and banners, brochures and corporate profiles etc., resulting in positive and top of mind recall of UEM Lestra name and brand amongst its audience, both internal and external.
- Establish, maintain and oversee effective stakeholders managementwith internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, UEM Lestra’s subsidiaries and partners, and industry players.
- Represent the company in stakeholder meetings/engagement/forums to build strong partnerships.
- Coordinate the company’s events, stakeholder engagement sessions, and town halls to foster stronger relationships, increasing employee morale, and aligning stakeholders with UEM Lestra’s strategic vision and mission.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage with relevant stakeholders such as government officials, legislators, regulatory agencies, private stakeholders, and industry players to shape policies in the sustainability industry.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and external stakeholders by addressing concerns and soliciting feedback, while proactively managing issues raised by stakeholders to safeguard the company’s image and reputation.
- Develop and execute Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes including sponsorship and donation that align with UEM Lestra’s values and community engagement goals.
- Collaborate with external partners and non-governmental organisations to maximize the impact of CSR activities.
- Measure and report on the outcomes of CSR initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Assist in developing key policy agendas for the sustainability industry, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals.
- Conduct research and analysis on relevant policies, regulations, and legislation affecting the organization’s operations.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the organization and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
- To plan and monitor budgets in ensuring communications cost / expenses incurred are optimised to support the implementation of authorised internal and external communication initiatives spanning internal and external branding, events, media management, corporate donation and sponsorship. This is achieved by putting together annual budget.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Affairs, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree is an advantage.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and policy environments related to the sustainability industry.
- Proficiency in communication tools and platforms for internal engagement.
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills.
