What You Get To Do
The Manager, Capital Planning & Analysis will lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis of all capital project across the Company and other strategic initiatives as assigned. This position will routinely work with varying levels of management at both the corporate office and the 12 domestic theme parks. Working closely with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, this position will take a leadership role in providing business recommendations based on the analysis performed. This position will perform multiple functions to include but not limited to:
- Work with all levels of management to implement efficiencies as identified.
- Lead the annual and multi-year capital planning process.
- Partner with park and Design & Engineering leadership to prioritize projects.
- Lead the monthly capital reporting and forecast process.
- Review Capital Authorization requests (CARs) and underlying financial support analysis to ensure projects are financially viable, meet capital criteria and are approved according to company policies.
- Design and facilitate the capital post-mortem process.
- Provide support for capital related items for quarterly and annual earnings calls and SEC filings.
- Develop a standardized pro forma model for use in CAR submissions.
- Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis Team to provide consolidated revenue and expense impacts from approved CARs.
- Provide capital cash flow projections.
- Manage special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Lead one financial analyst to support the capital planning and analysis process.
What It Takes To Succeed
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or a related field.
- MBA or Master’s degree in finance, business or economics preferred.
- Must have a proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a team environment.
- Must have at least 5 years of relevant business experience (e.g., financial planning and analysis, cost analysis, accounting).
- Must have educational and professional experience in the financial analysis of capital investments and associated financial returns.
- Must have strong Excel skills with the demonstrated ability to synthesize large quantities of data and use a variety of Excel tools and formulas.
- Demonstrated ability to summarize financial information and use it for deck presentations to senior executives.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills.
- Experience with SAP and Business Objects, or other data warehouse tools preferred.
- Experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking or Transaction Services highly preferred.
- Must have strong analytical and computer modeling skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Theme Park experience preferred.
