Overview

Working in the 2LoD Financial Crime Compliance team, the role holder will be required to provide support in numerous areas. This will include providing investigative research and analysis into referrals and investigations received by the team to conduct timely and accurate due diligence.

The role holder will be expected to collate data to support management information for committee meetings and have excellent skills in MS Office (particularly Excel).

The holder will act in support of the DMLRO to enhance the financial crime systems and controls within the Bank.

Ongoing research and support into Risk Assessments, Audits, Quality Assurance and Compliance Monitoring reviews will be required.

The FCC Officer will be part of a small team and will be expected to actively contribute to the enhancement of the financial crime control framework of the Bank, and undertake tasks as assigned by the line manager. This will include enhancements to AML, fraud, bribery, corruption, tax evasion, terrorist financing and other areas deemed relevant.

The role holder must have a good understanding of financial crime risk and trade finance.

What You Will Be Doing

  • To support the Deputy MLRO.
  • To provide financial crime advice and guidance to the business
  • Assist in the identification, investigation, prevention, and mitigation of financial crime, (AML, fraud, bribery, corruption, tax evasion, terrorist financing).
  • Conduct research in support of investigations being carried out by the team and conduct own investigations into suspicious transactions and escalations referred into the FCC team.
  • Conduct review of transactions monitoring alerts and undertake transactional investigations.
  • Draft SARs as required and have the responsibility for collating and drafting MI packs for management meetings.
  • Collate information for regulatory report ready for review and submission.
  • Work with the Financial Crime System Manager to undertake system implementation, UAT and support as required, including data extracts for analysis.
  • Contribute to and undertake QA work and policy / procedure reviews.

Candidate Specification

  • Understanding of financial crime risk gain from a corporate bank.
  • Understanding of the overlaps of financial crime and sanctions.
  • Good product knowledge including trade finance.
  • Understand how to undertake risk assessments.
  • It is highly desirable, but not essential if you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject. Relevant industry qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience of financial crime experience gained in a corporate bank.
  • Motivated and driven.
  • Very strong written and verbal skills.
  • Adept as conducting research work.
  • Confidence with good presentation skills.
