Description:

  • Processes instruments and other materials for distribution in a timely manner without errors.
  • Properly documents all necessary information and labels items correctly.
  • Follows all Universal Precaution guidelines regarding the handling of contaminated items.
  • Has knowledge of all phases of sterilization including Steam and Sterrad and biological

monitoring.

  • Demonstrates the ability to properly use all equipment in SPD (Steam and Sterrad), washing

sterilizers, heat sealers, computer system).

  • Assembles a minimum of four instrument trays per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from a Central Services Technician course preferred.
  • Minimum of one(1) year of previous experience in this job classification preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization is required.
  • Computer knowledge required.
  • Good interpersonal skills necessary
  • Performs all duties of an SPD Tech I.
  • Certification required or obtained within 6 months of employment.
