Probationary Reading Teacher

Must be NYS Reading K-12 Certified
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement effective reading instruction aligned with state standards and best practices.
- Assess students’ reading abilities using formal and informal assessments to inform instruction.
- Develop and deliver differentiated reading interventions for students at various skill levels.
- Provide direct instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy strategies across subjects.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to track student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Engage families in literacy initiatives and provide resources to support reading at home.
- Stay current with research-based literacy instruction and professional development.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
- Wilson certification preferred.
Salary is in accordance with the teachers’ contract.
Estimated start date: September 2025
