Job Description
PATH has been working to support the advancement of health equity in Indonesia through technical partnerships since the 1980s. Our current portfolio in Indonesia includes work to support healthcare providers and communities in preventing and responding to communicable and non-communicable diseases, advance digital health innovation, and address global health security priorities.
PATH seeks a Program Associate based in the Keerom District, Papua Province, who will work under the “PHC Transformation Cadre Integration Project.” The project is designed to take a gender-intentional approach to improving/strengthening cadre competency in implementing integrated primary health care and to design digital support tools and a telehealth prototype connecting community clients, cadres, and Puskesmas.
The Program Associate will support the implementation of project activities under the guidance of the District Coordinator and the District MEL Officer. Key responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
- Proactively support the coordination and integration of all project activities in overall implementation in close coordination with the District Coordinator, District MEL Officer, and other project staff at the district and national levels.
- Conduct background research as needed to support the implementation of project activities.
- Support the planning of project activities, coordinating with relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Support the development of project materials, including meeting materials, training materials, and activities’ reports.
- Support the implementation of project activities, including M&E activities, as agreed with the District Coordinator and the District MEL Officer.
- Provide inputs to the development of district quarterly project workplans and of the quarterly budget for district activities.
- Provide input to the district team’s weekly progress updates, which will be shared with the Project Coordinator, officers, and senior advisors at the national level.
- Develop good working relationships with the Provincial Health Office, District Health Office, and other related government offices to support the project’s implementation and monitoring.
- Contribute to project technical documents, presentations, and reports.
- Participate in annual review and planning workshops/meetings with project partners.
- Support the drafting of materials for project results dissemination through meetings, conferences, webinars, roundtables, publications, etc.
- Coordinate activities’ administrative and logistics needs with the District Finance and Administrative Officer
- Support the district project team in developing terms of reference, scopes of work, and other technical documents.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Required Experiences and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year of job-related experience in public health, health sciences, medicine, and gender
- Good understanding of the primary health care health system in Indonesia, including knowledge of the community health system
- Experience supporting health/health-related activities in the Papua Province
- General understanding of the advocacy process through the Provincial Health Office, District Health Office, Primary Health Care, and local government with a good understanding of the local context
- Experience working with various PHC stakeholders in Indonesia, including government, local partners, donors and CSOs.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a teamwork environment with solid interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Field-oriented and comfortable with a team approach to programming
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Location: Keerom District
Preference will be given to candidates based in Keerom.
