Team Description:

The Technology Process and Performance organization partners across all organizations to drive process efficiencies and effectiveness by measuring the organization’s performance and driving excellence. As part of the TP&P team, the Vendor Management Office (VMO) is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of vendor-related processes across our organization. As part of this mission, the VMO aims to leverage data-driven insights to optimize vendor management, streamline operations, and support informed decision-making. The Data Product Analyst will play a critical role in this vision by supporting the development and maintenance of data products, ensuring accurate and timely data integration, and helping to deliver valuable insights to key stakeholders.

Responsibilities of Role:

The VMO Associate Business Analyst will be a member of the VMO Product team and implement and maintain VMO contract lifecycle management tools, develop the data architecture and governance workflows for the VMO data platform, and deliver data analytics leveraging machine learning techniques and predictive science to advance business insights and support decision-making. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirement into product solutions, writing user stories required to implement the technical solution. The Associate Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, conducting thorough analyses, and presenting findings in a clear and actionable manner. This position requires a blend of technical skills and business acumen to ensure that the VMO’s product strategy aligns with Enterprise Technology organizational objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Integrate, harmonize, and join disparate data sets across multiple sources to develop and implement reporting and analytic capabilities.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze and interpret data and create “what if” modeling capabilities.
  • Capture and translate business requirements to technical solutions, working with engineers, SMEs, and stakeholders to implement technologies and systems.
  • Contribute to the product backlog, writing user stories, defining the personas and technical requirements to meet key business objectives.
  • Research and define options to leverage vendor specific solutions, and alignment to product strategy and ecosystem.
  • Implement low-code/no-code platforms to build VMO Products and Visualizations (e.g. Airtable, Power Automate, Power BI)

Must Haves:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in data visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data platforms (e.g. Snowflake).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or other database query languages.
  • Experience with using low-code/no-code development platforms
  • Experience with agile delivery methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Good understanding of financial modeling & measurements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Washington is $68,400.00 – $91,700.00 per year and in California is $65,300 – $87,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
