Description

The Compliance Associate will be responsible for helping Tabby operate in accordance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures. The role involves implementing parts of the compliance framework, administering training, and assisting with KYC, CDD and Transaction monitoring in accordance with the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT) programme.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards set by the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and other relevant regulatory bodies.
    • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and advise the business on necessary adjustments.
    • Assist in managing regulatory filings and submissions.

  • AML/CFT Programme Management:

    • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s AML/CFT policies and procedures in line with UAE regulations.
    • Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify potential areas of AML/CFT vulnerability.
    • Support the customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes.

  • Compliance Framework:

    • Assist in maintaining and updating the compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
    • Support compliance reviews and risk assessments.
    • Help maintain compliance documentation.

  • Transaction Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Support the implementation and management of transaction monitoring systems.
    • Assist in investigating suspicious transactions and escalating cases as necessary.
    • Aid in preparing and submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).

  • Training & Awareness:

    • Support the delivery of compliance and AML/CFT training programs to staff.
    • Promote a culture of compliance within the company.

  • Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Assist in conducting compliance monitoring activities.
    • Prepare compliance reports for management.
    • Support the investigation and resolution of compliance-related incidents.

  • Advisory Role:

    • Provide support and guidance to the business on compliance matters.
    • Assist in developing policies and procedures to address regulatory requirements.

  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Build relationships with internal stakeholders.
    • Support the compliance function in meetings and working groups.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees and professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE, CRCM, ICA) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in compliance roles within the financial services industry, with specific experience in a regulated financial services environment preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to FinTech companies in the United Arab Emirates, particularly those outlined by the CBUAE.
  • Strong understanding of anti-money laundering (AML), combatting the financing of terrorism (CFT), sanctions and other financial crime compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
