- Job Title: Innovation Manager
- Level & Responsibility: This role is at the Manager level or equivalent and is responsible for digital and physical innovation for a key partnership at SMG. In other businesses, it might be better known as Media Manager.
- Salary: £50k+ per annum, depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus scheme
- Location & Hybrid Working: London, 2 days a week in the office
The role
As an Innovation Manager, you’ll be at the heart of driving digital media innovation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll lead the development and execution of new onsite and offsite media channels, empowering brands to create more impactful campaigns.
Your role will focus on refining strategies, streamlining processes, and educating teams, ensuring they’re equipped to maximise these evolving media opportunities.

- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
- A proven track record of being able to deliver strong results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working within a retailer and understanding of how multiple functions work collaboratively.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, providing both short and long-term projects.
- Commercial competence.
- Aptitude for working independently and proactively as a self-starter.
- Previous experience building/working in an existing retail media network or a media agency is ideal but not essential.

What You’ll Be Doing
We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here’s an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:
- You’ll be responsible for helping to develop and implement our future innovation roadmap for digital onsite and offsite media channels. You’ll work closely with our Client and Operations teams within the partnership team, as well as colleagues at the partnership in question, to ensure a smooth deployment of new media services.
- You’ll provide strategic support, such as long-term brand plan advice to the partnership team regarding these digital onsite and offsite channels, as well as how new innovative solutions may help solve their brand challenges
- Support with challenging operational issues to ensure all channels are providing value for SMG, our new partner and advertiser
- Support the development of tools & platforms that are required that improve the efficiency or commercialisation of digital media channels
- Be accountable for the onboarding process of any new digital and technical partners, from identification to procurement and eventual roll-out
- Be a key stakeholder in developing a well packaged 1st Party Data proposition sold to agencies and advertisers
