Painter

Reports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business Unit

FLSA Status : Non-exempt

Schedule: 4 x 10 hour shifts

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists Line Technician with all Paint requests making sure each task is completed as required.
• Assist each Paint Station in setup for job.
• Oversees coating booth and gun setup per job requirements.
• Assures all job-related materials are on-line and ready to be used (masks, plugs, powder, air chucks, etc.)
• Visually inspects product for defect before leaving paint line.
• Makes sure area is cleaned at the end of each shift.
• Verifies paint usage at end of each job.
• Does Preventive Maintenance when required.
• Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
• May be required to stand entire shift to perform job.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge :

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Communication skills.
• Manual dexterity.
• Undeterred from working with dirty equipment.
• Must be able to enter data and/or required information into computer system.
• Excellent attendance, attitude, and communication skills are critical.
• Coatings experience is preferred.
• Management/Supervision experience is preferred.

Physical Environment/working Conditions

The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
