Job Description

Interprets and enforces federal, state, and local rules and regulations applicable to airport operations; responds to emergencies; compiles/monitors flight schedules and coordinates them with air carriers; monitors aircraft operations. Performs airfield, terminal and landside inspections as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); ensures Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and lease agreement compliance; responds to tenants/public inquiries and complaints; prepares related reports. Work is performed under the general direction of the Supervisor of Airport Operations and is reviewed via personal consultation, written reports and conferences.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or minimum of 60 college credits in Aviation Management or closely related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience at a Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 139 Commercial Service Airport. Equivalencies: Unrelated Associate’s Degree AND two (2) years of related experience OR graduation from high school/equivalent recognized certification AND three (3) years of related experience.

PREFERENCE FOR: Work experience at a medium/large hub airport (must specify airport name[s]); knowledge of airports/airfields CFR 139 and airport security CFR 1542 (must specify on application); valid Pilot’s License (copy of license must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).

Must be able to lift 50 pounds preferred. Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

Requires successful completion of DHS Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment prior to appointment and the ability to maintain these clearances as a condition of employment.
