Reimagine Youth Development Services (RYDS)
REPORTS TO: Sr. Program Manager
Washington Park
STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager, the RYDS Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of youth development programs designed to support and empower young people. This role involves managing program activities, coordinating with partners, and ensuring that services meet the needs of youth in the community under the RYDS program guidelines. The coordinator will work to implement innovative and impactful programs that foster positive youth development and provide pathways to success. The coordinator will also prepare and facilitate groups focusing on violence prevention.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field
- 2+ years experience working in youth development programming
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to network and develop professional partnerships
- High level of organizational skills with attention to detail and meet deadlines
- Understanding of trauma-informed practices
- Experience with data entry (Cityspan a plus) and report writing
- Access to reliable transportation
- Valid Illinois driver’s license and insurance
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to expand outreach efforts.
- Develop and deliver engaging workshops and training sessions on civic engagement topics including network and asset mapping, community organizing, advocacy, relationship building and more
- Accurate reporting data collection, and data implementation for program marketing, partnership reporting, client updates and grant reporting
- Build, coordinate, develop and distribute weekly reports
- Ensure completion of daily and quarterly reporting on client demographics, academic progress and tracking of average daily attendance in City Span
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate Social Emotional Learning, job readiness, and life skills activities
- Complete intakes, assessments, and individualized service plans for youth and ensure referrals are made to necessary resources to youth.
- Provide monitoring to ensure trauma-informed engagement and safety protocols are in place
- Maintain a caseload of 50 youth throughout the program
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide community engagement services
- Organize student activities in collaboration with other members of the team
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to ensure grant compliance and positive outcomes for clients
- Ability to work independently, as well as interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientation, to treat each individual with respect and dignity
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Work Requirements
- Must be able to actively engage by participating in youth center activities
- Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and/or lifting
- Ability to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
