- POSITION STANDARDS

- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from an accredited college/university; Registered Dietitian or RDE; Previous clinical experience helpful but not necessary.
- Age of Patients Treated: Independent Care, Out-patients: All Ages, usually adult/geriatric, M&S and Community/Occupational Health – usually adult
- Master’s Degree from an accredited program in nutritional sciences (2024 and after)
- Minimum 2 years’ related experience preferred.
- -Current NH Dietitian license. – Current Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Eligible applicants with pending license will be considered
- POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements.
- Physical Activity:
- Must be able to verbalize clearly and hear normal speech.
- Upper Extremity:
- Visual impairment should not be so severe to prevent independent activity as necessary to perform job duties.
- Must be able to move independently about the facility.

- Position Objective
- Evaluates, assesses, and plans nutrition care to meet patient nutritional needs.
- Performance Expectation

- Assesses patient nutritional status using documented medical information and established nutritional standards.
- Counsels patients and/or families by identifying nutrition-related problems. Develops plans of instruction and nutritional care, and monitoring results.
- Identifies inpatients at nutritional risk and documents recommendations.
- Diagnose and develop intervention for patients with malnutrition
- Participates in physicians’ rounds, discharge planning rounds, and conferences with nutritional implications.
- Conducts education programs for patients, community groups, and staff.
- Precept and mentor new staff or existing staff in clinical specialty area.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with multiple subspecialty care team members and providers that enables planning and participating across a broader spectrum patient care.
- Cross-covers a broader spectrum of patient care areas and subspecialties as needed.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
