The Opportunity

Kargo is looking for a talented Product Design Intern who is passionate about crafting beautiful and intuitive user experiences to join us this summer.The Product Design Intern works closely with product teams, managers, and developers to help ideate, visualize and document our various UI and software product experiences. As a part of a small team, you will have the opportunity to touch on all parts of the design process while making an impact from an early stage.

The Daily To-Do

  • Customer-obsessed – seeks to understand user needs and challenges
  • Use data to drive design decisions
  • Working with Product Managers to research, rapidly sketch and develop low-fidelity wireframes
  • Deconstruct complex concepts into intuitive and user friendly interfaces
  • Quickly illustrating user flows and site maps for product communication
  • Building high-fidelity wireframes, mockups and prototypes with iterations
  • Completing design documentation and annotations for development
  • Collaborating with other designers to maintain a centralized process
  • Participating in design critiques
  • Advocating for UX within the company and contributing to the design culture
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Qualifications

  • Portfolio featuring relevant UX/UI design experience
  • Experience using Figma
  • Understanding of designing intuitive user interfaces
  • Understanding of UX research methods, ideation processes and user testing
  • Understanding of Design Systems
  • Empathy, strong communication skills and deep respect for the power of collaboration
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to explain your design decisions clearly and persuasively
