POSITION:Electrical Engineer STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:The Electrical Engineer has a creative role in designing, analyzing, and testing electrical power equipment and systems. This position will convert custom specifications into drawings and schematics forunique customer electrical power equipment. The Electrical Engineer will use SolidWorks and AutoCAD software. This individual will be the principle point of contact and provide field support forthe installation and maintenance process to ensure it conforms with customer and industry standards and regulations. This person will play a crucial role in our client’s satisfaction and success.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare One Lines, technical drawings, and specifications of packaged, backup, electric power systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to quality standards and customer requirements
  • Develop designs for integrating electrical systems such as generators, breakers, transformers, control panels, and other power distribution systems
  • Create circuit diagrams that are load balanced
  • Perform engineering analysis of electrical systems in JTS products
  • Create and manage Bills of Material (BoMs)
  • Evaluate electrical equipment to ensure it meets customer, industry, and government quality standards and performance requirements
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes when designing and installing electrical systems
  • Collaborate with other engineers, departments, and companies to successfully complete projects
  • Provide technical support to ensure proper installation and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer concerns efficiently and professionally
  • Conduct research to identify new trends, technologies, and techniques that could improve JTS products
  • Weigh the short- and long-term implications of alternate engineering solutions when making decisions
  • Understand the manufacturing and cost implications of designs
  • Work with clients and participate with other engineers in the development of project plans of moderate complexity
  • Identify issues, developpossible solutions, prepare accurate documentation, and facilitate resolution of issues identified during the build process
  • Document and provide technical information to other engineers, project team members, and management to provide status and/or support technical decisions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in electrical engineering
  • 2-3 plus years of experience in an engineering capacity, with progressively more responsible engineering project assignments
  • Experience with electrical power equipment and systems design and construction materials, techniques, andprocedures
  • Advanced technical knowledge of electrical circuit design and analysis, manufacturing processes, and testing procedures
  • Ability to create load-balanced systems and document them on One Lines
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Safety Code (NSC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), national fire codes, and other construction codes
  • Understanding of how to properly specify and integrate fire and life safety systems
  • Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software, especially AutoCAD and SolidWorks, programming languages, and other tools
  • Professional Engineering license and applicable certifications (UL508A) preferred
