Senior Network Engineer

Job Description:

The Senior Network Engineer will be a pivotal member of the IT infrastructure team, responsible for architecting, managing, and optimizing the organization’s network systems. This position requires a deep understanding of advanced networking principles, with a specific emphasis on Data Center management utilizing Cisco ACI technology and wireless network administration. The Senior Network Engineer will take ownership of Level 2 network support, ensuring high availability and performance of network services. Additionally, meticulous documentation and adherence to regulatory compliance will be critical, alongside the ability to understand and apply scripting methods to automate tasks and improve network efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to lead multiple projects simultaneously while mentoring junior engineers.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and administration.
• CCNP certification or an equivalent advanced networking certification is mandatory.
• Proven experience in managing Cisco ACI and other similar technologies.
• Extensive background in managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing wireless networks.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand regulatory frameworks related to network management.
• Proficiency in basic scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation of network tasks.
• Experience in leading complex network projects from conception to completion, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
• Strong skill set in documenting network architectures, configurations, and protocols for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage advanced network infrastructures to support organizational needs.
• Ensure effective management and administration of network systems, including monitoring performance and security of network operations.
• Provide Level 2 network support, effectively troubleshooting complex networking issues within SLAs.
• Lead the deployment and ongoing management of Cisco ACI Data Centers, optimizing for performance and scalability.
• Oversee the administration of wireless networking, ensuring high levels of accessibility and security for users.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures to guide technical teams and ensure compliance.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver network solutions that meet business objectives.
• Conduct regular audits of network systems to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Mentor junior network engineers and provide training on best practices to enhance team knowledge and capabilities.
• Spearhead multiple projects simultaneously, managing timelines and resources effectively to achieve successful outcomes.

Required Skills:

• Advanced networking expertise with a thorough understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Strong experience with Cisco ACI technology, alongside hands-on experience in switching and routing.
• In-depth knowledge of Data Center architecture and operations, particularly with regard to network design and implementation.
• Familiarity with wireless network infrastructure, including protocols, security, and management tools.
• Proven project management skills with the ability to lead teams through complex network installations and upgrades.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools to enhance operational visibility and efficiency.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current trends and advancements in networking technologies and best practices.
• Effective organizational skills, with the capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
