Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. There are also roles that require being on-site full time. Limited remote opportunities may be available within specific departments. You’ll learn more about this during the recruitment process.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing engaging messaging concepts, copy, and scripts for a variety of content engagement projects and programs. All creative work should resonate with the Universal Orlando online brand and social voice. Works closely with other creatives, as well as team members from the Content Engagement team.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CREATE COMPELLING ADVERTISING
    • Craft compelling copy for all advertising mediums.
    • Ensure all copy is aligned with strategic and brand goals.
    • Provides and maintains copy clarity, correctness, and excitement from start-to-finish of any given project.
    • Utilize and repurpose copy from approved toolkits for additional creative iterations.
    • Execute revisions to work completed by other Copywriters, based on client feedback.
  • STRATEGIC THINKING
    • Stays current on advertising and social trends.
    • Maintains solid understanding of UDX core business, brand portfolio, brand standards, and target audiences.
  • TEAMWORK/COLLABORATION
    • Works closely with various team members to complete deliverables.
    • Maintains and encourages a proactive and open line of communication with other team members.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or degree from creative portfolio school.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in copywriting for a major brand or within an advertising agency, producing online copy for multiple brands or clients; or equivalent combination of experience and education.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional copywriting and storytelling skills that deliver results.
  • The ability to quickly and persuasively come up with crisp, effective online messages.
  • Passionate about working online and creating fresh interesting ways to connect with online communities.
  • A genuine passion for creating engaging advertising.
  • Digital publishing experience, copywriting and editing experience.
  • Thrive in a deadline driven environment with the ability to manage multiple priority assignments simultaneously.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Ability to step outside of one’s own voice or writing style to convey a brand appropriate united voice.
  • Experience in like industry (travel, tourism, entertainment, etc.) and with like targets/demographics (teens/tweens, vacationers, etc.) a plus
