Job Description

  • Responsible for system installations, upgrades, problem analysis and resolution, database management, client copies, system refreshes, SAP instance configuration and performance tuning for a complex system landscape.
  • Position requires leading, addressing and solving critical issues including the management of escalations and resolutions of system issues related to the major SAP applications.
  • Responsible for analyzing, diagnosing and resolving computing problems related applications, system software, external or third party software, and operating systems.
  • Individual will also provide installation, configuration, integration, upgrade and testing support for new projects, and maintenance initiatives for SAP systems and operating system environments.
  • Utilize knowledge of operating system environments including Windows and Unix/Linux to deploy SAP and supporting 3rd party software.
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert and provide performance tuning, problem analysis and system administration for Oracle/SQL/HANA databases and related SAP modules such as ECC, NetWeaver and BW.
  • Coordinates the activities of the customer/user teams working on the analysis and provides technical expertise on hardware, software.
  • Applies extensive knowledge of technical for the ERP solutions to optimize the overall system environment as well as deploy new capabilities of SAP to support Army functional communities and end users.
  • Maintain and sustain the ERP application (SAP environment) infrastructure/architecture on a day to day basis.
  • Functional understanding of Army acquisition practices.
  • Draws upon advanced system techniques to devise new ways of accomplishing work functions and to integrate functions with little or nothing in common except basic information used.
  • Looks for and points out the need for major changes in organizational structure and staffing patterns based on system design and computer logic requirements.
  • Develops all necessary procedures for a successful system processing of ERP application (SAP) which includes but is not limited to basic documents from which information is extracted.

AND In addition to the competencies, have one year of specialized experience with the following: 1. Evaluating system software configurations needed to support Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as SAP or customized integration of business computer systems; 2. Solving technical issues related to major SAP applications; and 3. Working with stakeholders to translate needs into functional requirements or create functional and technical specification documents ensuring a comprehensive design.
