Job Description
MPS Group, Inc., is seeking a Network Administrator to join our IT team at our Headquarters located in Farmington Hills, MI. The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of all LAN/WAN network devices and servers, as well as recommending and implementing changes to improve end user functionality.
5+ years of demonstrated network administration experience.
In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and network services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
Direct experience managing and maintaining Microsoft 365, Exchange Online and related security best practices.
Experience implementing and maintaining Firewalls, Routers, and Switches.
IT related certifications with focus on network and systems administration are a plus.
Experience with MS PowerShell scripting languages a plus.
Strong project management experience required.
Independent problem-solving and critical thinking; ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to coordinate and train users of various skill levels in application and operating system fundamentals.
Self-motivated with ability to thrive in a fast-paced and growing organization is a must.
Responsibilities And Job Duties
- Monitor and maintain all LAN/WAN networking equipment.
- Administer server hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance of all data center equipment including maintaining security updates.
- Manage backup and recovery systems including disaster recovery planning.
- Administer and support enterprise Microsoft 365 Exchange and Azure environments.
- Develop processes, procedures and strategies for network operations and end user usage.
- Monitor alerts and resolve network outages in a timely manner.
- Conduct routine audits of all supported hardware and software systems to ensure compliance with established procedures, policies, and requirements.
- Create and update technical and end user documentation and network topologies as necessary.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure adequate delivery and support of equipment and services.
- Assist with managing and supporting highly decentralized remote workforce including connectivity and application support on a variety of admin related issues escalated from the Help Desk.
