Job Summary: The Community Services Navigator will conduct intakes, provide referrals, and coordinate with partner agencies to ensure complete access to available resources for clients, particularly those in crisis situations.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, NON-EXEMPT

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in applying for available public benefits and assist with the application process for such benefits.
  • Provide advocacy to clients who are facing housing denials and terminations.
  • Conduct rental, mortgage, and/or utility arrearage counseling and screening for various financial resources for eligible clients.
  • Respond to clients requiring immediate assistance via urgent care policy.
  • Enter and update information on clients served in internal databases along with submitting paperwork to the Director of Community Services in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Participate in cross-training to provide emergency front desk coverage, as needed.
  • Attend and participate in departmental, organization-wide, and other meetings.
  • Act in the best interest of the organization, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly affect and welcoming personality, with the ability to triage and respond appropriately to individuals in crisis.
  • Possess a sense of urgency and be client focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Bilingual candidates, specifically Spanish/English or Portuguese/English, strong desired.

Education And Experience

  • BS degree in Human Services or three years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 10 pounds.
