We are embarking on a major transformation in our Digital & Core Banking space, replacing our core banking platform, introducing a new Digital app and modernising our whole technology estate to meet the digital and product needs of our customers. The Programme Director of Digital Transformation will report into the Chief Transformation Officer. The post holder lead the delivery of our digital transformation and core banking modernisation including organisational change management programme across our Building Society (Cloud; Applications, Data and Managed Service). The post holder will be responsible for driving the transformation programme, overseeing project implementation, including the work of a number of strategic suppliers, and ensuring the delivery of innovative digital solutions that enhance our services and customer experience.,

  • Strategic Leadership – Implement the transformation strategy as agreed by Board including refining this strategy over the duration of the programme
  • Programme Management – Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of the transformation, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget with appropriate transparency of performance and risks.
  • Agile Delivery Approach – Experience of working with large scale agile and product led methodologies
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, IT teams, and other departments, to ensure alignment and support for digital initiatives.
  • Supplier Management – manage a number of key strategic partners to deliver the right outcomes for the Society, to include contract, performance measurement and set up of an outsourced managed service
  • Risk Management – Identify and mitigate risks associated with the digital transformation programme, ensuring robust governance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Innovation and Technology – Drive the adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Change Management – Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new digital processes and systems.
  • Performance Monitoring – Monitor and evaluate the performance of digital transformation projects, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership – Build and lead a high-performing team , fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Commercial and Financial Management – Manage £M budgets and resources across the Society to achieve successful delivery within budget tolerances.

Purpose led; value driven leader

  • Proven experience in leading large-scale digital transformation projects across financial services, including core-banking modernisation (ideally within the financial services or building society sector).
  • Previous experience of running large scale migration programmes within a regulatory environment
  • Experience in large scale, multinational Agile delivery and with skills to navigate ambiguity
  • Experience of material outsourcing within a regulatory environment,
  • Demonstrate People and Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams, increasing colleague engagement to contribute to the overall successful delivery
  • Strong programme management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to work with multiple 3rd parties.
  • Qualifications in either PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe or similar project management certifications are highly desirable.
