The Green Tech Institute at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Benguerir, Morocco, is seeking a highly motivated young postdoctoral researcher to join our team in exploring the intersection of green building, energy transition, solar energy and sustainable construction. This position aims to advance innovative solutions that promote sustainability in the built environment, focusing on the integration of green buildings, renewable energy, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS), green infrastructure and analysis through machine learning and neuro-optimized techniques. The candidate must hold a PhD in Urban Development, Computer Sciences or Engineering or related domain but with specialization in Machine Learning and GIS. The candidate is expected to have hands-on experience in fields related to infrastructure planning, machine and deep learning techniques, GIS mapping and sustainable construction.
Key Duties
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to:
- Conduct cutting-edge research in sustainable construction practices and energy transition.
- Publish in high-impact journals in the field.
- Contribute to teaching activities.
- Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions on research projects.
Criteria For The Candidate
- PhD in the field of Urban Development, Computer Sciences/Engineering but with specialization in Machine Learning and GIS or in the related fields.
- The candidate should have received a Ph.D. degree within the last 3 years.
- Relevant publication in reputed journals.
- Aptitude for teamwork, problem solving, and collaborative relationships.
- Strong technical background in the following areas: Proficiency in designing and analyzing large-scale infrastructure systems, including transportation, urban development, or utilities. Experience in developing and deploying AI models, with applications in predictive analysis, optimization, or automation in construction and infrastructure projects. Strong skills in spatial data analysis, mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS), and geospatial modeling for infrastructure projects. Knowledge of green building practices, lifecycle assessment, and sustainable materials or technologies.
Employment Terms
The successful candidate will be employed by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) based at Benguerir (50 km north of Marrakech), Morocco.
