Job Description
As a Senior Accountant, you will participate in all activities related to full-cycle revenue accounting for several business units. This is a key position not only in the accounting department but in the operations of the company as well. The Senior Accountant will analyze financial data to identify issues and inconsistencies, assist in internal and external financial reporting and provide accounting guidance to operations.
This position will require the ability to drive change and contribute to automation initiatives of manual processes to produce consistent, timely and accurate invoices and reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation and execution of monthly and quarterly close deliverables, including preparation of journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts as part of month end close cycle with focus on continuous improvement
- Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analysis
- Analyze financial information and drive month end support and documentation
- Liaison to internal and external auditors to support public company requirements
- Coordinate and prepare reports to provide management critical insights into the business and support data driven decision making.
- Support cross functional teams such as FP&A, Tax, Financial operations, Sales Operations, Internal audit and Legal
- Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Job Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree Accounting
- 3-6 years operational accounting experience, public accounting or a combination thereof
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently while contributing to overall department objectives
- Strong MS Office experience, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal are essential to this position
- Demonstrates problem-solving ability & able to identify issues and make recommendations with solution
- Ability to work and communicate effectively and consistently with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management
- Demonstrates knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to meet tight quarterly deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to take initiative as a self-starter
- Team player who exhibits a positive and professional attitude
- CPA or parts of exam passed a plus
- Oracle Fusion experience a plus
- Salesforce experience a plus
- Working hours are standard business hours Central and Eastern time zone
Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
