Position:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide timely analysis and interpretation of project cost status.
  • Provide proactive financial and commercial support to Project Managers.
  • Cost comparisons versus quote and previous estimates.
  • Provide financial support to the contract review and contract postmortem processes.
  • Machine margin analysis – studying budget discrepancies
  • Revenue recognition for Project Accounting
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to project costs, revenues, and profitability, providing insights to project stakeholders.
  • Support timely month-end close process such as preparing and posting journal entries
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the general ledger.
  • Analyze accounts to ensure accuracy and help the team prepare for monthly review with Head Office.
  • Prepare weekly reporting including, but not limited to, Customer Deposits, Advances to Suppliers and Order book.
  • Manage costing and manufacturing postings in ERP and updating WIP schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate with sales, operations, and project management to carry out tasks such as closing completed projects, Inventory adjustments and reports.
  • Assist in Treasury functions as required including initiating wire transfers and completing bank activities. Exposure to Foreign exchange contracts an asset.
  • Assist Controller with monthly forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Support Controller in performing other analysis as required.
  • Complete requests from Head Office as well as external auditors.
  • Provide financial support and analysis to other areas of the business.
  • Provide support for ERP.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Most work is performed in an office environment with occasional trips to the assembly floor and the warehouse.
  • Most of work is done while sitting down. Occasional need to stand and talk.
  • Works with computer for prolonged periods of time.

HARDWARE & SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • One desktop computer, keyboard, monitor, mouse.
  • Relevant software, including Concur, Infor’s Visual, MS Teams

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position is a position of trust and responsibility. Long working hours may be necessary on occasion in order to comply with deadlines (internal and external). This position requires the employee to attend work properly groomed and dressed according to the position. Mpac Langen attire is mandatory at all times

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Recently obtained recognized Accounting Designation (CPA) or nearing completion of designation
  • Team player with strong presence; self-starter & proactive problem solver
  • Accurate worker; attention to detail and able to work to strict deadlines
  • In-depth understanding of ERP systems
  • High level of proficiency in Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
