The person in this position will manage and supervise staff in the development, operation, and maintenance of all statewide assessment programs administered through or by the Office of Assessment and Standards (OAS). Oversee the development of requests for proposals (RFPs), the selection of contractors, and the management of contracts related to assessment systems. Manage and supervise staff in the development and/or revision of College, Career, and Military Ready (CCMR) Academic Standards to include resources to support best practice in curriculum development, implementation, instruction, and assessment. provide direct support to districts in implementing High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) to ensure alignment with state standards and enhance instructional practices. Collaborate with educators to integrate HQIM effectively into classrooms, providing resources and training to support teachers and school leaders in utilizing these materials fully. Supervise assigned staff to include monitoring of work processes, approval of personnel and other work-related requests, and conducting performance evaluations. Oversee education associates specializing in all areas of OAS and supervise team leaders. Communicate within and outside of the Division of College, Career, and Military Readiness. Assist the director with: aligning performance metrics and budgets to annually develop work plans to support the agency’s strategic plan; following procurement procedures for contracting and securing bids, RFPs and grant awards; develop and/or supervise the compliance with statutes, rules, policies, and regulations related to assessment and standards development, revisions, and implementation; identify instructional materials requests for funding; and representing the Director in his/her absence. Other duties as assigned.
This position is located in the Office of Assessment and Standards.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A master’s degree in educational measurement, educational research, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership or appropriate areas of emphasis, five (5) years of experience in assessment, measurement, or educational administration, and five (5) years of experience teaching elementary, middle, or high school or relevant experience in a related field.
Additional Comments
Occasional overnight travel is possible.
