The Compliance Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst will be responsible for day-to-day AML operational tasks supporting Fundbox’s alternative small business financing products. This role will focus on monitoring, investigating, and escalating suspicious activity while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and partnership obligations. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational mindset, investigative skills, and an understanding of AML compliance within the financial technology and alternative lending space.

Requirements
- 3-5 years of AML compliance, financial crime investigations, or risk management experience in a financial institution, fintech, or payments company.
- Strong investigative skills, including familiarity with public record research and database tools.
- Experience analyzing commercial financial transactions and identifying potential red flags related to money laundering and financial crime.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience handling customer interactions related to AML reviews, account restrictions, or transaction escalations.
- Proficiency with CRM, case management, and AML monitoring tools preferred.
- A four-year undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, Criminal Justice, or Law).
Responsibilities
- Monitor and investigate compliance-related alerts, including OFAC screening, unusual transaction patterns, high-risk customer behavior, and potential fraud, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution.
- Escalate investigative reports of unusual activity to corporate partners and relevant stakeholders as required by Fundbox’s AML policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Conduct customer due diligence (CDD), including verifying customer identities, assessing beneficial ownership structures, and performing enhanced due diligence (EDD) for high-risk customers, in line with Fundbox’s risk-based approach.
- Ensure all daily AML operational tasks are completed within established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct regular reviews of operational processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Assist with AML compliance training, focusing on identifying and reporting suspicious transactions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML and financial crime compliance, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN guidance, and industry best practices related to small business lending and alternative financing.
- Collaborate with internal Fraud, Risk, and Compliance teams to refine transaction monitoring rules, enhance AML controls, and address policy or procedural gaps.

Compensation & Benefits
We anticipate the US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 – $110,000. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the amount the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position across all US locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors (i.e. job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training). The compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include any bonuses, equity, or benefits.
