PLG is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Finance Director to join our team in Italy. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing and managing all aspects of financial operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO will collaborate with leadership to support the company’s growth strategy and financial stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounting, payroll, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with Italian and international regulations.
  • Lead cash flow management, optimizing liquidity and working capital to support operational needs and future growth.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop strategic financial plans, including acquisitions, mergers, and capital-raising initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling and scenario analysis to assess potential investments and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired legal entities, building an effective financial organization in the region.
  • Guide the finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis in compliance with best practices.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, statements, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for cost savings and profitability enhancement.
  • Manage risk by identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial threats, such as currency fluctuations and credit risks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific tax laws and regulatory requirements.

Required experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as Finance Director or VP of Finance, with at least 5 years in an international environment.
  • Proven expertise in the services sector is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in financial software, ERPs, and analytical tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, valuation, and integration processes.
  • Strong command of long-term strategic planning, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of Italian tax compliance and regulations.
  • Expertise in risk management, treasury operations, and capital allocation strategies.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing financial systems and processes, including short-term financing tools like factoring and finance leases.
  • Fluency in Italian and English is mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA.
  • Experience with data models, databases, and analytical cost accounting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, adapt to changes, and lead a team to success.
  • Expertise in presenting complex financial information to non-technical audiences.
