This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager.

What you’ll do
- Collaborate with insurance providers to monitor outstanding claim status and navigate resolution steps.
- Investigate outstanding A/R accounts, determine the cause of the delinquency, and collect payments.
- Conduct daily calls and online status queries on claims, ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to the processes outlined in the Standard Operating Procedure Handbook.
- Review all insurance correspondence and documentation to identify discrepancies.
- Provide the Payment Posting team with EOBs and payment details.
- Identify trends and conduct root cause analyses on unpaid and underpaid claims until resolved.
- Research and gather pertinent information related to claims processing and denial trends and share with internal management.
- Achieve performance goals or objectives (individual or departmental) as established by the A/R Manager.
- Participate in meetings to review A/R reports and provide insight on patient accounts.
- Collaborate and troubleshoot with internal and external point of contact teams on account-related issues. Prompting steps for resolution when necessary.
- Address incoming emails from various sources.
- Maintain HIPAA and compliance standards to preserve patient confidentiality.
- Other tasks and projects as needed and assigned.
What we’re looking for
- 3-4 years of experience working in accounts receivable in the behavioral healthcare space.
- Strong problem-solving skills with analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- One year of Behavioral Health experience preferred including EMR/EHR knowledge (Kipu, BestNotes).
- Ability to manage critical deadlines with a self-motivated attitude and ability to multi-task.
- Must be resourceful, persistent, and an excellent problem solver
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds at times.
