Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver key insights into the agriculture landscape and model forecasts and economic outlooks for the beef and pork markets
- Manage top priority strategic projects across the business, including but not limited to opportunity assessment in strategic segments (white/emerging spaces), business improvement projects, strategic evaluations
- Lead organic/inorganic strategy and strategic plan development, and inform resource allocation decisions
- Lead strategic planning process, partner with Finance & Corporate Strategy to support deliverables/milestones
- Guide prioritization of opportunities and focus areas across the portfolio and ensure balance with the growth agenda. Balance focus on delivering current year and identifying further out opportunities
- Effectively work across the organization to build support and buy-in to key opportunities
- Develop strategy communication and performance narratives for the Segment President and Tyson Senior Leadership
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
Background and experience: 10 years of experience required. The successful candidate will have a combined 3-5 years of experience in strategy with a top strategy consulting firm (traditionally senior associate level or higher) and/or in strategy within a high-performing multi-national organization. Ideal experience in the poultry industry with focus on commercial experience.
Key capabilities and skills:
- Significant knowledge of beef and pork industry, including an understanding of value drivers and commercial levers is required
- Impact-focused forward-thinking orientation is required for success in this role. Other key experience includes experience with market data sources, exceptional analytic and hypothesis-driven problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop creative solutions and new approaches to address business issues and estimate the financial implications
- Relationship-building orientation and strong influencing skills. High level of ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment manage multiple priorities and make ongoing decisions.
