Responsibilities
Coordinate credentialing and re-credentialing application process of health care providers.
- Provide technical and clerical assistance to facilitate effective and efficient operations of the provider credentialing function. Maintain data on credentials of current staff. Track and report performance measures according to credentialing requirements.
- Ensure health care professionals and services meet all established federal and state standards, as well as National Committee for Quality Assurance standards. Verify the professional licensing, training and certifications of professional medical staff. Prepare and maintain reports of credentialing activities such as accreditation, membership or facility privileges.
- Coordinate medical staff appointments. Process applications and various licensing and certification. Responsible for preparing, organizing, implementing and managing the provider credentialing process. Coordinate communication of information between staff departments and administration.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and legal requirements related to the medical staff.
- Contact medical office staff, licensing agencies, and insurance carriers to complete credentialing and re-credentialing applications.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

- Experienced in credentialing software (preferably MD Staff), ability to use Excel proficiently.
- Strong skill-sets to focus on details of data and enter accurately.
- Majority of day is utilizing software and inputting data. Must be able to focus on customer service when talking to credentialed practitioners on phone.
