We are offering the opportunity for Energy Advisor candidates to complete their 6 probationary files which are required to become registered with Natural Resources Canada.
Energy Advisor Responsibilities
- Perform EnerGuide home energy audits, including all required data collection, geometry calculations, modelling HOT2000 energy simulations and generating accurate and time sensitive energy audit reports on time and according to established procedures.
- Manage client relationships and inquiries, including educating homeowners on rebates and loans available through federal, provincial and local programs.
- Manage your own marketing and sales, including building long-term relationships.
Experience & Requirements
- Have passed the Natural Resources Canada Foundation Level and Energy Advisor (House) exams.
- Educational background in Engineering, Environmental Technology, or similar.
- Good problem-solving skills, including critical thinking and analysis.
- Math (geometry) skills.
- Professional, reliable, organized and detailed-oriented individuals able to work independently.
- Possess high standards, strong time-management skills, integrity and the ability to deliver high-quality and time sensitive energy audit reports on time and according to established procedures.
- Professional and friendly with good client service and sales skills.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills to be able to educate homeowners on energy audit reports and rebate and loan program requirements.
- Adaptable and capable of working in various weather conditions.
- Able to do physically active work such as carry equipment, climb ladders and access crawl spaces.
- Good computer skills with the ability and willingness to learn new software programs, including HOT2000 and Sketchup.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license, good driving record and insurance.
- Own blower door, ladder, tools, cell phone, printer and computer with Windows operating system.
- Willing to undergo a criminal background check (required to become a Registered Energy Advisor).
Probationary Energy Audits (6 Required To Become Registered)
- We are offering a fee for service training opportunity to complete 6 probationary files required to become registered as an Energy Advisor with Natural Resources Canada.
- Following the interview selection process, selected candidates must first complete our online Energy Advisor Exam Prep course ($795 including tax). This is mandatory.
- There is a fee of $400 + HST per probationary file (6 probationary files in total).
- There is a fee of $1000 to register candidates with NRCan upon successful completion of the probationary files.
- Candidates must be available to attend energy audits in the Collingwood area and have houses available to complete solo audits on (own house or houses of friends and family).
- The online Energy Advisor course and probationary energy audits must be completed in a 3-month period and is subject to terms and conditions.
