Job Description
You will be responsible for the provision of care as part of a team on a 16 bedded unit for people from 18 years upwards. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and be able to communicate with internal and external partners as required.
Working with your team to take charge of a cohort of patients and as appropriate to act up to take charge of the unit in the absence of senior staff and be part of internal rotation to support 24-hour care within the unit.
- To work as a registered nurse within a team responsible to the team leader / shift coordinator caring for patients and their carer’s
- To fully utilise the learning opportunities available. You will gain an understanding of the physiological, psycho-social, spiritual and cultural needs of the patients and their carer’s and to develop a broad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver nursing care
- To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carer’s, visitors and staff
- To comply with the Trust’s values and expected behaviours
- To support in the assessment, implementation and review of holistic patient requirements. Being able to delegate where appropriate to colleagues to support in the provision of safe care for patients
- To administer medication safely and with due diligence and monitor effectiveness or manage any adverse reaction within own abilities
- To have a high level of communication skill that can be adapted to meet the needs of the situation and person
- To be able to maintain written records that are legible
