The CHAT Collaborative Specialist (the “Specialist”) ensures that “best-fit” therapy referrals are provided to children and families in need of trauma treatment. Utilizing the bio-psychosocial model, the Specialist assesses the child’s therapeutic needs and the family’s readiness for and ability to access services. The Specialist works with Pat’s Place Response Services personnel and outside agencies to coordinate treatment access and to ensure timely connections between clients and providers. The Specialist also conducts consultations with community members who are seeking therapy recommendations for trauma treatment. The CHAT team includes two Specialists who work together to meet the needs of clients and with the Director of Healing Services to maintain provider engagement and compliance in the program, to maintain the provider database, collect, enter, and track client assessment data, facilitate community and network training, and conduct community outreach.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with children and families in child welfare or community mental health
- Knowledge of trauma treatment modalities and community mental health resources
