Overview

As the Finance Manager you will play an integral role in supporting the growth in the company with your involvement in financial reporting and analysis in addition to managing revenue recognition process. In this position, the Finance Manager will support the CFO and the executive team through analysis and reporting with actionable data. The Finance Manger role will also partner with accounting and operations as a business partner to manage the revenue recognition process. The Finance Manager will be a key partner to ensuring compliance to the Private Equity owners and debt holders.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reporting package and work with management to outline variances to budget/forecast
  • Revenue recognition management: partner with operations to update/manage forecast to ensure proper revenue recognition. Connect accounting and operations to manage data flow. Challenge and review variances to budget/forecast
  • Provide leadership and guidance for project level insights highlighting performance, risk and opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of required financial reporting for clients
  • Partner with sales and marketing to develop strong product offering, scoping and bid grid and deal structure guidelines
  • Ensure all financial and accounting records are thoroughly maintained and complete in preparation for independent audits
  • Foster working relationships cross-functionally and proactively informs stakeholders about opportunities
  • Identify areas of efficiencies to improve current process and procedures and determine scalable solutions
  • Achieves desired level of competency and accuracy for the main department processes and responsibilities of assigned position
  • Meets or exceeds productivity expectations

Requirements

Education:

Required: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. An MBA is preferred.

Experience

At least 5+ years experience in a financial role within a CRO Environment.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 revenue standard
  • Strong working knowledge of financial aspects of projects from bid to project closeout
  • Understanding of General Ledger Accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the Ability to identify financial issues and recommend mitigating actions.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
  • Proven oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines. Proficient with MS Office programs including a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working in ERP Systems and planning and budgeting tools (NetSuite and Salesforce a plus)
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to travel as required by role. Limited overnight travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

Position requires: ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about conference or meeting locations as required; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.

The Pay Range For This Role Is

125,000 – 140,000 USD per year(Durham)
