Description
Holding Hands Pediatric Therapy & Adult Services is currently looking for a full-time Admissions Specialist. The ideal candidate should be organized and able to multi-task with great attention to detail. They will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent follow-up skills, and will complete assignments quickly and accurately. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with an agency that provides therapeutic services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder & Mental Health. This position reports to the Director of Billing and Admissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Answers phones, inquiries, and questions regarding the admissions process from families and referral sources with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be energetic, enthusiastic and team-oriented
- Collect necessary admissions documentation including demographics and forms
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits
- Request authorization for services
- Ensures proper follow-up on pending cases
- Updates system of record with accuracy
- Work in collaboration with the department coordinators
- Must be able to work and be cross-trained in all applicable areas
- Must remain informed and compliant with HIPAA requirements
- Communicates with management and makes recommendations to improve processes
- Performs other administrative duties, as assigned by the Director of Billing and Admissions
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of customer service experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, entering data on spreadsheets and basic computer functions
