What Will You Do?

Key Responsibility:

  • Assist in the group annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process
  • Prepare monthly management reports
  • Prepare and submit month payroll and VAT returns
  • Assist in the preparation of annual income tax returns
  • Prepare and/or review monthly and annual balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with group statutory (CIPC) compliance
  • Daily cash flow management and forecasting
  • Prepare and maintain IFRS 16 lease schedules
  • Support the annual audit process by preparing and/or reviewing relevant documentation
  • Contribute to the development and integration of financial systems and processes
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide ad-hoc support to various members of the finance team

Who Do You Need to Be?

  • Bachelors degree in financial accounting required
  • SAICA articles completed
  • 1-2 years post articles experience preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS accounting standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Income Tax, VAT and Companies Act
  • Strong technical accounting, analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced excel skills preferred)
  • Ability to train and assist junior accountants
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Effective planning, organisational and time-management skills
