Responsibilities

We are looking for a Roading Forester to join the Green Triangle Forests team, reporting to the Harvesting & Roading Manager. This role is crucial for the planning and coordination of road construction for harvesting operations and maintenance programs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating quarry and resource management aligning with Forest Management Systems (FMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Coordination and planning of road construction/maintenance programs and projects including budget preparation, and cost control
  • Engaging and supervising contractors to meet safety, quality, and cost targets.
  • Communicating with key internal and external stakeholders, including government organisations and regulators.
  • Implementing and improving quality systems and processes both internally and with contractors.

About You

  • Relevant industry experience or tertiary qualifications in forestry operations, civil construction, or natural resource management.
  • Understanding of quarrying operations, industry standards, and government regulations.
  • Experience in contractor engagement and supervision, with a mature safety mindset and values.
  • Ability to establish and maintain inclusive business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to generate high-quality results and outcomes.
  • Ability to utilise measurement practices, methodologies, and processes using software applications and geographical information systems.

Experience in fire preparedness and response activities or a willingness to learn will be highly regarded.
