Job Description

Position Summary

Provide day-to-day program oversight and management Mental Health Program. This position is responsible for program outreach, scheduling, case management and coordination with outside agencies to ensure the efficiency of the program.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counselor education or related clinical discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in social services work

Desired Qualifications

  • Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania to provide mental health services (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, etc.)

Essential Functions And Responsibilities


  • Oversight and development of regional SAP program, inclusive of:
    • Organizing and leading quarterly meetings with liaisons
    • Collecting and tracking SAP liaison monthly data
    • Establishing relationships with agencies inclusive of districts and behavior health agencies
    • Visiting SAP teams across region to support school teams
  • Coordination of, and participation in, the Crisis Response Team needs and further development or the program
  • Writing of grants for Mental Health Program and ensuring grant compliance
  • Supervises staff providing mental health and parent consultant services on behalf the IU
  • Leads Behavior Consultant Program for assessment and growth of needs within the districts and early intervention programs
  • Supervises programming for the IU5 Therapeutic Classroom(s) inclusive of tours, coordinating referrals, communicating with district LEAs and support of student meetings
  • Training of staff for supporting behavior related to mental health (Ukeru/Handle with Care)
  • Complex case coordination with TaC interagency as needed
  • Coordination between facilities when students are admitted to hospitalization programs
  • BrainSteps team member and case management connection
  • Attendance at various meetings to support mental health programs throughout the region
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Understanding of state mental health program requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws that impact operations within the IU
  • Ability to create and manage appropriate computer applications necessary for program management.

  • Respect for confidentiality of student and the family support system.
  • Knowledge of evidence based clinical psychotherapeutic practices and modalities
  • Knowledge of documentation standards and demonstrated skills to meet documentation expectations
  • Knowledge of pertinent law and regulations regarding mental health service delivery and Pennsylvania Special Education
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of students in various socioeconomic and multicultural areas
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment

Work Environment

This position reports to the main office in Edinboro, PA. This position involves travel within Northwest Pennsylvania to meet the needs of clients. Due to travel outside of the home office, employees are required to have a vehicle and valid driver’s license to attend job related duties, meetings, seminars, and trainings.
