South College invites applications for the position of Dean of Imaging Sciences to oversee the Radiography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs across all locations. This dynamic leader will drive program excellence, ensure compliance with accreditation standards, and support the institution’s mission to deliver innovative high-quality, career-focused education. The Dean will serve as the course and curriculum owner for the Imaging Sciences department, fostering innovation, faculty development, and student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement strategic offerings and partnerships for the Imaging Sciences department, aligned with South College’s mission and goals.
    • Foster program growth through curriculum development, innovative teaching practices, and programmatic accreditation initiatives.
  • Academic Oversight:
    • Oversee the Radiography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs, ensuring academic rigor, relevance, and compliance with accrediting bodies (e.g., JRCERT, JRCDMS).
    • Monitor program effectiveness, student outcomes, and faculty performance through regular assessment and data analysis.
  • Faculty Development:
    • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty to maintain a high standard of teaching and professional practice.
    • Promote professional development opportunities to enhance faculty expertise in imaging sciences.
  • Operational Management:
    • Manage budgets, resources, and facilities for the Imaging Sciences department.
    • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among program directors, faculty, and clinical partners.
  • Accreditation and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to accreditation standards and facilitate successful accreditation reviews.
    • Maintain compliance with all institutional, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • A terminal degree in a related field is preferred (e.g., Doctorate in Education, Health Sciences, or a related discipline).
    • A Master’s degree with significant leadership experience in imaging sciences will also be considered with intent for terminal degree.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Radiography, Sonography, or a related healthcare education field.
    • Demonstrated success in program development, accreditation processes, and strategic planning.
    • Proven ability to mentor faculty and support student success.
    • Active licensure in imaging science.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple campuses.
    • Expertise in accreditation standards and processes for Radiography and/or Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs.
