Job Description
At St Andrews International School Bangkok, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support our Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 classes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative team that fosters a positive and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will assist in delivering a high-quality educational experience, ensuring student engagement, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Team Collaboration: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other members of staff.
- Play and Supervision: Undertake play and supervisory duties as required.
- Classroom Management: Ensure the classroom is tidy and presentable at all times.
- Preparation and Displays: Under the direction of the class teacher, prepare students’ work for display, topic books, and their learning journey records.
- Curriculum Delivery: Collaborate with assigned teachers to deliver the curriculum in line with school policies and procedures.
- Task Completion: Complete all work assigned by the class teacher within acceptable time frames.
- Daily Preparation: Arrive at school by 7:30 am to help prepare for the day and leave school at approximately 4:00 pm.
- After-School Clubs: Lead or assist with an after-school club once a week.
- English Language Support: Encourage Thai students to use English by acting as a positive role model.
- Emergency Coverage: Provide coverage for the class teacher during emergencies.
- Student Engagement: Ensure students are safe and engaged in purposeful activities.
- School Participation: Actively participate in school activities.
Details for a Typical Workday
In The Morning
- Ensure all resources needed for the day are prepared.
- Review the planning for the day.
During The Day
- Liaise with the teacher to pick up students after playtime.
- Assist the teacher in taking students to lunch and provide supervision.
- Coordinate with the teacher to escort students to specialist lessons and provide support as necessary.

Extracurricular Activity Programme
All academic staff are expected to contribute positively to the Extracurricular Activity Programme, which runs after school. Staff are encouraged to offer activities that either support or extend students’ learning or draw upon personal areas of interest.
Special Educational Needs Support
St Andrews has a strong reputation for supporting children with special educational needs. Experience working with students with ADHD, mild autism, dyslexia, or similar needs would be highly beneficial for applicants wishing to join our team.
