The Consulting Operations Manager (FLSA Exempt role) is
is responsible for oversight of the Consulting Team which includes direct/indirect management of Consulting Team Lead(s), Consulting Team (20+ employees), Consulting Analyst, as well as all consulting projects, clients, and vendors. The Consulting Operations Manager focuses on managing the day-to-day operations of the consulting team, ensuring project and resource management efficiency, team performance, and effective collaboration with other departments. This role supports the achievement of divisional goals through oversight of operational processes, reporting, and consultant development.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of consulting department-specific policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence
- Provide managerial guidance and coaching to team leads and consultants
- Address team and client escalations, ensuring timely resolution
- Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with team leads to address updates, utilization, and accountability
- Complete quarterly and annual performance reviews for direct team members and collaborate on indirect team reviews
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and recontracting processes for clients
- Manage consultant vendor certification requirements
- Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient departmental operations, aligning with organizational goals
- Conduct discovery calls and develop scopes of work, including services, hours, and pricing to meet margin targets
- Process signed opportunities and assign resources based on scope, expertise, and schedule
- Provide oversight of all open projects to ensure milestones and deliverables are met
- Drive the continuous improvement of project management methodologies and tools, ensuring team adherence to established processes for successful project execution and delivery
- Manage consulting schedules, the dispatch portal, and team calendars to support resource planning and 30-60-90-day outlooks
- Collaborate on weekly and monthly reporting for KPIs regarding project hours, utilization, and retainer agreements
- Maintain dashboards and data accuracy for operational insights
- Train and onboard consultants on NextGen and DAS Health products, services, and updates
- Ensure consultants are equipped to recommend DAS offerings and advise on ROI and product benefits
- Assist in developing educational webinars for internal and external audiences
- Work with Account Management, Marketing, Finance, and other teams on opportunity tracking and open project
- Serve as a point of contact for vendors and clients for consulting-related needs
- Provide oversight for the Government Incentives and Patient Engagement divisions
- Participate in department growth planning and strategy alongside senior leadership
- Other duties, as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with 3+ years in operations or team management, preferably in healthcare consulting or a similar field
- Familiarity with EHR/PM systems like NextGen and experience supporting Government Incentives and Patient Engagement initiatives
- Experience with Government Incentives programs (MIPS/PCMH) and Product/Vendor Management preferred
- Proven ability to manage, coach, and mentor teams, addressing escalations, utilization, and performance reviews
- Skilled in resource allocation, project oversight, client onboarding/offboarding, and recontracts to ensure timely execution and alignment with goals
- Strong interpersonal skills to work across departments and maintain effective communication with clients and vendors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management tools, and maintaining documentation systems like SharePoint
