We are seeking an Accountant with expertise in cost accounting, leadership capabilities, and proficiency in certified payroll and Davis-Bacon Act requirements for billing. Key Responsibilities

Oversee job cost accounting for multiple construction projects, including monthly close processes (journal entries, accruals).

Ensure compliance with certified payroll requirements, including preparing and submitting certified payroll reports as required by contracts and government regulations.

Monitor and apply Davis-Bacon Act wage determinations in billing processes to ensure compliance with federal labor standards.

Perform cost analyses, project forecasting, and financial reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company and legal standards.

Leverage technological tools to enhance the efficiency of financial operations, streamline processes, and improve accuracy in billing and reporting.

Create and maintain progress billing invoices, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, payroll requirements, and certified wage standards.

Manage accounts receivable/payable, retainage, and cash flow activities for multiple entities.

Collaborate with field personnel to ensure proper coding of expenses and compliance with Davis-Bacon wage rates.

Conduct general ledger reconciliations, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Lead a team, mentoring and providing innovative approaches to improve financial and operational performance.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the construction industry.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Experienced candidates without a degree will be considered.

Extensive experience with certified payroll reporting and Davis-Bacon Act requirements.

Expertise in Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and macros for financial reporting.

Technologically savvy, with the ability to implement new tools and systems that improve financial and operational efficiency.

Excellent multitasking abilities; able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead teams and foster innovation in financial processes.

Desired Skills

In-depth knowledge of certified payrolls and Davis-Bacon Act requirements for billings.

Experience with construction accounting software and cost-tracking systems.
