Job Summary
The Mathematics and Sciences Department (MSD) at the college of Humanities and Sciences (CHS) is seeking a motivated and dedicated male candidate to join our faculty as a Chemistry Lab Instructor/Technician for the upcoming 1st semester of academic year 2025/2026. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chemistry and a passion for teaching and mentoring students in a laboratory environment.
Applicants Are Expected To Meet The Following Requirements
- Male candidates only.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry or related field, having earned the degrees from an accredited university and on-site as a full-time student.
- Excellent proficiency with the English language (all teaching/advising will be in English).
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
- Experience in maintaining laboratory instruments.
- Previous teaching experience in a laboratory setting is desirable.
- Able to effectively utilize information technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students & faculty in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Responsibilities For This Role Include
- Preparing and delivering laboratory sessions for undergraduate chemistry courses.
- Assisting students in conducting experiments while providing guidance on proper techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitoring and assessing student performance in all aspects of the laboratory, including experimental procedures, techniques, safety, and written reports.
- Providing constructive feedback to students on their lab work and performance, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Performing basic maintenance of laboratory instruments and ensuring they are in proper working condition and are appropriately stored.
- Maintaining a safe and effective laboratory environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborating with faculty members to develop and update lab curricula and instructional materials.
- Providing support for additional teaching and learning activities as requested by the MSD.
Salary And Benefits
The University is continuously expanding, and its campus is situated in well-equipped new premises in north-central Riyadh.
- We offer a one-year renewable contract (renewable subject to Dean/Director and student evaluations) and a competitive salary package based on academic qualification, rank and teaching experience as stated above.
- Other benefits include medical insurance coverage for the employee & dependents residing within the Kingdom (spouse & 4 children below 24 years of age).
- Transport allowance.
- Round trip tickets (maximum 4: employee, spouse and 2 children below 18 years of age) for annual leave with paid annual (summer) vacation of two (2) months, plus 2 local paid holidays of about 15 days each (as applicable).
- Tuition fees of Saudi Riyals 30,000 maximum for children attending school within the Kingdom. Details will be specified in the contract.
- Free, furnished accommodation plus essential utilities and maintenance will be provided subject to availability, OR the successful candidate will be provided a housing allowance based on academic rank.
- End-of-service yearly gratuity, which starts on the 2nd year of continuous service (if the candidate completed a minimum of 2 years.)
